How do I fix my interior light on an 87' Ford Escort?

I recently broke my interior lighting above the dash on my 87' Ford Escort by pusshing the button too hard and I heard a cracking sound and the buttons are now just "limp" in a sense and don't even have any resistance or clicking like they did before and my interior lighting won't come on anymore. My question is how do I go about fixing something like this? I think I may have cracked something in the electrical part of it, but I'm not sure, and I'm not skilled enough to know how to take the thing apart to find out what I did...please help D:

The lens should clip out with the help of a screwdriver. See if its just bent the metal switch plate out of shape if so just bend back. If it is beyond repair just unplug the electrical connection and replace the whole unit, should easy and cheaply gat one from breakers yard or scrapyard, Lee.
