you need to clean off all the corrosion that is causing the phone to short circuit and therefore not work. For this you need some surgical spirits - the most pure alcohol you can get in the UK. Dismantle the phone and clean up the circuit board with the surgical spirit and a lint-free cloth. Once it's cleaned, dry it very thoroughly with a hair dryer or heat gun and then try to turn it on. Hopefully it should work. THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER GETTING IT WET IS TAKE IT APART (ESPECIALLY GET THE BATTERY OUT) AND DRY IT AS BEST AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON THIS COULD FRY THE CIRCUIT BOARD DUE TO THE CORROSION. Good luck. You can also fix laptops that you spill a glass of water over this way!

the way to fix fone which was droped in water is to open it up ... and give it a good clean... the components used in the chip borad of a fone are so liquid sensitive , its hardly believable;, to your surprise your fone board will be highly curoded... that needs cleaning .. use some miniture brush to clean surface and also keppad etc...

mate,everyone says ptit in the air cupboard, bt tht doesnt always work, n if it does, it wnt last lng, i say take out the sim and battery and putit in the freezer 2 a day or two. this will cure it n 4 gud lik

Take out the battery and shove it and the phone in the airing cupbard for a couple of days. If it doesn't work after that, it could be the phone or the battery or both. Its a bit acadmic however because in eithe case you're bettter off getting a new phone.
