vectra cooling?

when am stationary the car temp rises but the fan will not cut in. checked the fuses under the dash. anyone help before i end up blowing it up please.

1) Try checking that your fan works. Disconnect the power supply that goes into your fan, getting a piece of wire, connect two of the pins together and if that dosen't work then connect one of the pins that you tried to the other. If the fan still fails to operate the the problem is your fan.
2) If the fan works then replace your fan switch which will cost you around £10.00.
3) If the problem persists then you will have to replace your coolant temperature sensor which will cost you around £10.00.
