fix smeg dishwasher df612sdx?

start/pause button 2 not engaging so machine won't switch on.on opening panel ,button 3 appears to have some sort of plastic lever which is missing from button 2. Is this the problem and if so how do I fix it?? Help please!

The plastic lever is not broke, it locks under the housing.

I have the same issue with mine, currently looking for a part number to fix, there is a plastic housing that needs to be replaced, when I took the back off the plastic broke on the other button which was working! Very poor design. Will let you know if I have any luck.
