Can i fix my Potterton Combi 80 myself? As it wont light?

My boiler has stopped working. When I turn it on I hear noise from the boiler but the flame LED is not lighting up.

It happened about a week ago I left the heating off over night and then turned it on in the morning and it lit and has been ok.

This morning the flame again didn’t light.

I have no gas of electric qualifications but would I be ok to open the boiler up and check things like the ignition gap and sensor gap in the combustion chamber or should I pay for a professional?

Thank you in advance

you are not suposed to do any work on a gas boiler unless you are gas safe registered, myself i have fixed boilers and then when they are working i have had them serviced by a gas registered installer this way i'm saving money fixing it myself and then just getting it checked over. if it goes bang or leakes co into a room and someone dies, i would expect you will need to get used to the taste of porrige as it would be manslaughter.

!!!!!THE CHOISE IS YOURS!!!!!
