Well "b" I've given some thought to this...
And have done some research...

Some modern gas boilers DO have Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) just like mobile 'phones have - so I was wrong... And on reflection a boiler will need some form of intelligence (an ASIC) to detect and display fault codes.

And here's the proof...

What a tosser I continue to be...

I doubt the word of the manufacturer's agent - not what you wrote - no wish to offend whatsoever.

I shall continue to try to be clever wherever I wish - it's my own personal tragedy sadly.

In the world of heating boilers much rubbish is spoken - most of it by me I grant you - but I'm pretty sure that domestic boilers are unlikely to experience a software fault.

Doubt everbody and question everything - has continually got me into trouble.

Once again - sorry if my comment grated with you...I lack interpersonal sensitivity.

Merry Christmas...

A "software fault" - do boilers have microprocessors these days?

Peccavi, December 2009
i just phoned glow worm
you need to get an engineer out to it
its a software fault
he may be able to to reset it or it may need a new pcb
