travel on brake pedal?

1997 polo auto 1400cc. I have to much travel on the brake pedal. had all the brakes looked at but the problem is still there, I used to be a mechanic some years ago and I do know about brakes, once I ajusted the bar from the pedal to the servo on a Golf it had a thread on so it could be ajusted, is there one on this car? paul.

the brake fluid could be past it i recently done a polo for a homer with to much travel and brake fluid was full of moisture should be changed every couple of years or so

check all wheels/brake hoses & brake pipe's for fluid loss, travel on pedal suggest's fluid loss or problem with mastercylinder or could be a wheel cylinder gone, making car a death trap
