it started banging then not going round ,took off the bit at the back and there was black dust in it my husband tookout a bit and thinks it may be the fault?its the bit that goes at the back of the drum not got any idea how to go putting it back on i think it maybe the belt as it was squealing a bit about a week before ,any ideas

Sounds like the rear drum bearing - same thing happened to our VTD00 dryer. E-Spares do a drum replacement kit for a few quid. I'm going to use that - fingers crossed ...
