can Electrolux ER78311 be repired if it has internal gas leak?

I have Elctrolux ER78311 integrated Frdige/Freezer which was under maintenance by British Gas Home Care for several years.

Recently it started to ice up and British Gas has stated the problem being internal gas leak which they say is not repairable and are offering £31.50 which is refund of the payments made under care agreement.

I would like to know if the internal leak is repairable as if it is Britihs Gas are pulling a fast one on us.

Roberts hit the nail on the head ALOT OF WORK AND EXPENSIVE.Hence they don't want to get involved trying to fix it.they would rather give you your money back as it is the cheapest option for them

if there is an internal gas leakage, it is very difficult to fix and it is not reliable, because the cooling part (evaporator) is of aluminium which is very thin. there is another big problem. the evaporator is behind the plastic board ( that you see in the fridge) and surounded with insulation foam. it is not possible to weld the leakage on aluminium without damaging plastic interior of the freezer. even if the repair is succesfull, there is a lot of work and parts (filter-drier, refrigerant, welding material,...), it would be very expensive (in my country aprox. 200 EUR). I am from Slovenia, sorry for my english. Robert

No gas or a leak means it will not freeze up at all.lack of gas on the other hand could well cause your issue.they would need to evacuate the system to be able to test for leaks as this was not done by looking at it bearing in mind it was iced up.Pulling a fast one unless they attempt to repair it.Ask them to attempt a repair to prove it has a leak and see what happens
