LG Washer with LE error after replacing sensor?
I had the LE error on my LG 1814 model clothes washer. I had a service man come out, after reading this site and he came in with a screw driver only and said he didn't need to check anything out because he could tell my the symtoms that it was the Hall Sensor and wanted to charge me $368.00 to replace it. I have gotten the parts manual for the washer and there is only one part that cost $16.00 from LG that has the word sensor in it. It is in the back corner on a swivel arm that took me only 2 to 5 minutes to replace. I did this and the washer worked fine for about 5 washes and then I get the same error again. I called up the service company because they told me they honored the service call which I paid $59.00 for, for a month. The owner told me that he should also have told me to replace the stator also.
I am wondering if I replaced the wrong part. It was just a square black switch looking device that one screw held in place. If I didn't, should I really replace the stator also? If so is it something someone who is reasonable profecient can handle?
Help someone PLEASE
