How do I fix my brother xl3010, you know where the needle is well it won't go up or down, I try the turning nob to do it my self and the pedal but nothin happens so I can't sew, so whats wrong and how do I fix it?

Mine does the same exact thing! I tap the pedal but if I continue tapping the pedal it will eventually start sewing. Once it gets going, it is okay but if I stop, I have to start all over again. Its frustrating!
