how can I repair ?

since i do not know what machine it is ? heres some ideas. take the cord housing off, there should be a pulley with a hole or slot on the face or the back.buy a new rope of the same diameter and style as old.feed the rope through the eyelet in the housing, feed the rope through the hole or slot in the pulley and tie a strong knot. while keeping it in the groove of the pulley turn it so it tightens and wants to pull the rest of the rope from you.leave approxamently one turn free of rope so the rope will not slip off the pulley. then attach your handle on the outside of the eyelet or wherever the handle should be
