98 Kawasaki 1500 clutch nut hard to remove?

I'm having a hard time removing the main nut holding the clutch on the shaft. Is there a trick to taking off this nut or do I just need to put more torque on the wrench?

tap it with a impact driver to crack it

not sure about your model, but usually make sure bike is in gear, and hold back brake on, then use a socket on the nut with extension and give it a sharp blow with hammer, this should shock nut free!
