I have replaced the thermostats, but that has not made a difference. Have also cleaned out the fluff from inside the door but not made any difference. The drying light comes on and sometimes there is heat in the dryer, but not enough to dry the clothes. There does not seem to be any fluff in the filter after the machine has been on for some time.

Any ideas?

Already replaced the element but sometimes the dryer works, sometimes it doesn't. I wondered if it could be the auto sensor unit inside the drum, as it seems to be covered in very fine scratches? Don't want to replace any more parts if that is not the problem though.

Anyone any more ideas?

It could be the heating elements. My problem was that the dryer did not heat so I replaced the HE but it still did not heat, so replaced the thermostat and it did work. Might be worth a try.
