i got the battery off, but i took of the black leads 1 is a thin wire and im unsure which bolt to put them back on too,

Earth lead black to black,red means DANGER live,it shouldn't reach the wrong terminal, anyway they design them like that so you can't cock it up,black=earth red =live did you put your battery in the correct way round,if so the leads will only stretch to where they came off.Good luck and happy new year anyway,hope you get sorted.
