How do I get my water to fill the tub?

My fisher and paykel smartdrive 058 which has a computer motherboard and a separate hot and cold tap, won't fill with cold water. The hose from the wall flows fine, but it only trickles in when connected to the washing machine. It works fine once the tub is filled manually but needs filling again for the rinse cycle.

The HOT water tap fills the tub at the start, but won't fill for rinse. The computer does bleep an error sound. It filled with hot on med (actually trying to fill for the rinse cycle) and it started washing, but when I fast forwarded it onto the rinse cycle it bleeped error until I changed it to low water amt, then it was fine. It agitates and empties and spins fine. When I just had the hot tap and tube connected, whilst it was filling, the cold water spout was spurting out water from the back of the machine.

The washing machine was kept in a storage facility without use for about 3yrs before being moved (but kept upright) into this new flat.

To correct the problem you need to replace the cold water inlet valve for a new one. No use just using the hot tap because the rinse is always done with cold water so machine will beep when it can't get cold water for the rinse. Yes, both hoses must be on the machine or else water from one valve will back flow out of the other valve & on to the floor.
