AEG Lavamat 54810 Washing Machine Error Code 6 beeps?

Can't seem to find any reference to 6 beeps in the manual. The machine seems to drain okay and will spin but on a wash cycle the machine will start filling with water and then cut out and I get the 6 beeps. Has anyone experienced this and knows what could be causing the problem?

i have the same problem with the model 54600

It means the heater is on when its not meant to be which could be welded relay contacts or a faulty drive transistor.just as a matter of interest check the heater is ok and the wires are attached to the heater.tap the relay on the pcb with a screwdriver handle might release stuck relay contacts.pcb cost around £100 give or take a few quid but might not be the problem 100% as i would be testing wiring etc before risking parting with that kind of money on a 5yr old machine

Many thanks for your quick reply. Really appreciate you going to the trouble.

Is the relay built into the PCB. If so could it be be a dry joint that could be soldered or is it a slot in similar to this one

Cant seem to find specific info for this model.

don't mind having a go at fixing it myself if its likely to be £50ish although as the machine is around 5 years old would probably buy new if likely to be more for a complete pcb. Its used most days so hasn't done badly!
