Wiper arms parking at wrong angle on Leyland Daf 45 Turbo?

The wiper arms on our Leyland Daf 45 Turbo lorry won't return to the usual parking position and are pointing upwards. how do we get them off to alter the position?. At the last service the garage replaced the motor and have already had it back once to correct this same fault that we are trying to sort now.Is it possible to take the arms off and adjust them or does it need a trip to the garage>
Thanks for any help

Its common on these to have the wipers park in the wrong place. 90% chance you have to change the wiper motor. Only other thing if it parks in the wrong place but the same wrong place is its drive arm has slipped on its spline.

How does the wiper motor know when to stop so that your wipers park at the correct angle? Answer: the motor has limit switches built into it. If those limit switches fail, then the wipers will come to rest in whatever position they are in when you turn of the wipers at the stalk.
To check, see if you get 12 V (or 24V if its a 24 V system although I doubt it on a DAF 45) at the wiper motor multiplug, while the wiper stalk is in the OFF position but the ignition switch is in the ON position. (Use a multimeter). If you get 12 V then the limit switches are unserviceable and you'll have to replace the wiper motor. If you don't get voltage, then there may be a break in the wiring and you'll have to trace it back to the fusebox (not easy).

may be fault is on wiper relay/delay unit [situated behind n/s dash panel] if it is,you can disconnect it and couple the two connectors together [as 1 is male and other is female] when coupled as so -when you switch to delay it will only do one wipe which is all you need
