Indesit IS70C condenser dryer keeps tripping RCD in box?

I have an indesit IS70C dryer that when it has run for about a minute then trips the RCD in the fuse box. Haven't had any previous problems with this, and it does seem to be heating up and tumbling OK before it trips the RCD. Has anyone had the same problem and knows what the solution is?

Thanks for this advice to Andy Isle of Man ... On it and worked ... will order new element as it was soaking and crumbling

My dryer decided to trip the electrics within seconds of switching it on.
I took advice from about and found that my heater element is on its way out due to moisture. The heat protector strips (between the heat coils) have started to crumble.
Its working again now but I've ordered a whole new heating element and sensors for £31 of ebay.

Cheers for ya help

James from Ireland, Nov2009 helped . . .
UNPLUG FIRST Remove large silver plate at back of dryer (save those screws!) and carefully remove. You might need to unscrew those smaller screws at 3 & 9 o'clock. Might see water so carefully clear all moisture from that electrical unit (hair drier handy, anyone?). Re-position element and refit to back.
But also THOROUGHLY clean and rinse that condenser unit located at the front (the one they tell us to clean every month!) Safety is of paramount importance.
