I can't record the OGM on an old Binatone System 30 answering machine?

I've lost the user guide for an ancient Binatone System 30 answering machine (model 024-4230) and can't record the OGM. When I press "OGM" the display counts seconds as if recording but when I press "Stop", instead of repeating the OGM it says "No announcements".

Hold down the OGM button until your hear a beep.
The message has to be at least 6 seconds long for it to record.
Press the OGM button to hear the recorded message.

Looks like a mic sensitivity issue to me.
Got it working.
Hold down OGM button and speak loud direct into mic hole bottom right of console.
Then press Stop.
Now working.

Strangely, the Memo function has been working without talking loud etc.

Anyway, that's what fixed mine.

I would've thought Leo's answer is correct, however mine isn't responding to any of that. Could it be it needs a new backup battery or turn off then on again?!

Try pressing and holding down the OGM button until it goes "beep". Then you record the message. When you finish, you hit the "stop" button which has a square on it. Then if you hit the OGM button it should play your OGM back to you.
