can i bleed fuel system in a 54 vectra 2.0dti?

i ran out of fuel and now after putting more in, i still can't get it started.

yes you need to purge the air out of system by turning the ignition on/off in short bursts this happened to me and it took quite a few goes but it started just make sure you have a decent battery like graeme said hope this helps

You can start the car by normal method but it may take a while to start as it will self bleed the air out of the fuel system. If your baterry is not to good it may be an idea to couple up to another car as if you were going to jump start it as it could take a couple of minutes to start it.
