I am trying to program in a new remote into a 98 Fiesta. Following the below mentioned technique,
Fiesta 96> & Escort 98> (Radio 3 Button)

Procedure

1. Insert Key and turn to II, then Turn Key from II to I and back to II four times within 3 seconds
2. The PATS LED should light. Turn Key to Position 0.
3. Press the Unlock button and keep it pressed until the PATS LED flashes 4 times.
4. Add additional fobs the same way. Turn to II and back to 0 to end.
Focus (Radio 3 Button)

Now I guessed the PATS LED was the red light next to the clock, but it comes on and stays on for a few seconds when I turn the key to position II the first time. However, there is no difference in this after I follow step one of the procedure. I still follow the remaining of the procedure and on step3 the PATS LED flashes but no faster or slower than it normally flashes when the key is on Position 0. Obviously the programming doesn't work. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Try This
Switch the ignition on and off four times within three seconds. A signal sounds and the REAR FOG light and indicator come on Press a button on the remote control within 20seconds . A signal sounds and the REAR FOG goes out after 0.5 seconds.
