i was happily playing assasin's creed and about to take a run and jump to assasinate sum 1 and BOOOOOM just froze so i turned it off ... turnd it on agen and no pic but three red flashing lights!! can anyone help me?? or is my poor baby dead????

If red lights are flashing, there's an internal problem with your Xbox, if it is under warranty, return it to Microsoft. If your warranty has expired, I do the repairs for a small charge and guarantee the work for 3 months.

Your box is not completely dead - just overheated.
I repaired my cousins out of warranty xbox easily.

No soldering, drilling, towel wraping.
Just prising apart, cleaning, dabing, and screwing.

Cost of repair approx £10
Items needed -
Torx T8 screwdriver
Torx T10 screwdriver (they are vital)
Small flat head screwdriver
Buy from ebay - xbox 360 rrod kit
( you want the ones with the thermal paste and couple of nylon washers )

shows extra detail towards completing process. Look at both websites

The fix involves removing and discarding the X clamp
Cleaning the two micro chips
Fixing the screws and washers
Nylon washers should be positioned under and on top circuit board (like a sandwich)
Important bit - Dab on thermal paste on top of two micro chips (just a pea size)
Re screw on heat sinks over micro chips

Final important bit - DO NOT attach fan yet
Turn on opened Xbox for 10 seconds only (this is a overheat procedure)
Turn off Xbox
Re attach fans, everything else. Reassemble. Cured

Worked for me - as with everything there is always a risk.

Likely cost for repair £30 -£60 from a reputable repairer.
If they won't give at least 3 months warranty - don't touch them.
It can fail again. If so it i likely to happen within the first couple of months.

Red circle of death..your baby is dead, same happened to mine and countless others..if it's still under warranty and you still have the receipt take it back to the shop you bought it from and ask for a replacement.

if it has three red lights or the e 74 message on the screen log on to x box . com and ask for a service repair put in your details and the serial no from the x box and they may need to send it back to germany for repair free of charge
