how do we find the thermastat
mark grace, January 2010
UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE!
The thermostats are found screwed to a plate on the heater assembly which is behind the rear cover plate. There are two or three, depending on the model.
They are round and about 10mm in dia. with two flat terminals on which the wiring connectors are pushed.
One of them has a small hole in the centre and something like a stout pin or similar may be inserted and pushed until an click is heard. This must be regarded as a temporary solution as every time the 'stat is re-set in this way it may trip out again. Pattern 'stats are available for around £20 and are sold in pairs.
The reason that the fault occurs can be that the fluff filter is not cleaned regularly. It really needs to be cleaned after every use.
