My alarm bellbox is chirping in cold weather, below -9 degrees, kept us awake all night, unit is 3 years old, I am informed this is a known fault, does manufacturer replace faulty component(s) free of charge or do I need to call out and pay for upgrade.

Glad you think this is amusing Nick, bet it's not for Sandy.

I would suggest the problem with you sounder is a known problem with the old Risco Nova box, bet you've got one of these.

There is a 'fix' from Risco but its is a get the ladder out and alter the SA PCB, not the job for Joe public.

Sorry i find this slightly amusing. Will the manufacturer replace the faulty components free of charge after 3 years. No, how long do you think a guarentee lasts for, and they wouldnt repair it anyway, it wouldnt be cost effective on a bell box costing £20 would it.
You probably have a Texecom bell box, i think these were designed to go wrong and chirp. However annoying
