citroen xsara 2.0 hdi 53 plate immobiliser fault?

recently replaced battery and now the car wont start, put ignition on and the key symbol (immobiliser) light comes on and stays on and i also get a tone from dash, ive also noticed the red light on the hazard button stays on too. can anybody solve my problem. Thankyou. steve.

when you put the ignition on it must be left on without trying to start the engine for at least 3 minutes this is to allow the key and the immobiliser to ''talk'' to each other it WILL NOT start without this procedure
