potterton profile 50e ignition is not alight?

The reset button has not come out and I can hear a "clicking" but the heating will not come on. The water whilst on is also not heating up. What do I do?

Alan its is Illegal to work on any gas appliance if not CORGI resgistered!!

Potterton profile 50e has NO thermocouple! as the buners and pilot are fully electronic and ingnited by Flame rectification through the pilot electrode lead.

Hi, what is it doing? Does the fan run, if so the air pressure switch may be at fault. if the fan does not run then the fan or the PCB may be at fault. That is assuming the over heat is not faulty which I guess its not as you can hear the boiler clicking.

same problem with mine a few years ago . I replaced the copper tube which is the sensor (lie a thermocouple) which senses that the pilot light is working .
Which then allows the gas to flow thro the valve to ignite the main boiler flame.
A fairly simple job for a DIY er . I bought my replacement from B&Q for about £6
