Baxi gas flame gas fire?

My pilot light ignites ok on my Baxi gas flame gas fire but after I've held down the knob for a while to allow the pilot light to warm up the pilot light always cuts out when I try to turn the knob to light up the gas burners. I've had the fire for about 25 years and it has always worked perfectly until now...the coldest weather for 50 years. Just my luck!!

Thank you for answering my question regarding my faulty gas fire A. You said it could be a possible faulty thermocouple. Is a thermocouple the same as a thermal sender unit?

Advise to have it serviced possible thermocouple failure
