I had same problem very recently with the same boiler, but found when central heating was on i had hot water, got a corgi engineer out, he replaced a couple of valves and a microswitch, now two days after getting it fixed fan has seized so no hot water or heating this time, expect to pay around £150 for parts plus whatever the engineers rate is, just had a quote for £160 for the fan unit, if all had gone at the same time, i would have bought a new boiler instead, and not a Halstead again, as i had to do a lot of phoning round to get someone who was prepared to work on it, hope this helps.
