i have a renault megane 2004 1.6 16v dynamique which unfortunately does not hold the handbrake on, i think maybe the ratchets that hold the handbrake are broken upon taking casing off and pressing button inside casing,the handbrake can then be put on hold would i need a whole new assembly or can i just purchase a new handbrake and if so rather than having to go to renaults can you recommend someone on can supply these

this seems like an unacceptable failure. check to see if there has ever been a recall on these cars, for this problem. if there has, you may be able to get it done for free..

the only place you will get a handbrake lever is the renault dealer or a breakers yard
