Having problems with my Rover 45. It seems to be in damp weather (plenty of rain lately) that the car just wont start. There is not even a clicking noise when I try to turn the engine on. It had a new started just 3 months ago and had no problems until this last week. Any suggestions please.

hi there if it just clicks once that means your starters on its way out had the very same problem just one click when turning the key so changed the starter on my partners 214 and started first time hope this helps?

Remove and clean the Battery terminals again, especially the earth lead, refit them TIGHTLY,spend some time be methodical,it's only a 12volt bat and has to pull all the current to start your car, every loose/dirty connection reduces the performance drastically.Back to basics in this climate I'm afraid.

I am having the same problem on a new rover 45 I just purchased a few days ago. The immobiliser appears to disable, light goes out, I turn the key to opperate the starter motor and I get a single click from behind the dash. The battery is good. This problem comes and goes so its not a fuse. Could it be the starter relay? Did you find out the problem with yours yet Terry? Any ideas people.
