veritas alarm system?

i have been experiencing several power cuts of late, and this has been triggering off the alarm, but i am unable to deactivate the sound,we have to wait for the alarm to stop itself this takes upto 30 mins. Why can't it be deactivated, is it the battery that needs to be changed, and how easy it is for me knowing nothing about it change it.
thankyou

thankyou for your prompt reply, by changing the battery will that prevent the alarm going off in the first place due to a power cut, this is getting very embarassing as it is disturbing the neighourhood. thankyou

ohh sorry jacqueline my mistake if the battery is the problem and you purchase a new one open the panel and you will see a black and red wire connecting to the wire disconnect them and take the battery out replace the new 1 and do the same procedure red to plus black to negative get back if this works or if this is not the problem

hi jacqueline
does your alarm code work when the mains is on ? if it does then maybe you do need a new battery but when the power goes off is the alarm lights on the panel very dim and the sounds quite low ? if this is yes you do
as ive said on another question dont buy a battery for about 15 pounds from an electrical shop visit your local alarm shop they should be around 6 pounds to 12 pounds thanks death
