Dryer starts but drum stops runnig when clothes are added?

Our Whirlpool Dryer stops turning after clothes are added to the drum. When this first started, I smelled an odor like rubber burning. Hitting the start button would not restart the dryer. However, after a period of cooldown, it would begin again. I think it is the motor. BUT I am having a hard time finding someone who is willing to look at it. I was concerned that the belt may be at fault, as well. It looks good. Whirlpool Supreme, Heavy Duty, 7 cycle/ 4 Temp.

my dryer heat up but do not dry the cloths inside of it

Hello,

It sure sounds like a bad motor is possible. A motor will start up and run for a while and then shutdown when it heats up only to start once again when it cools down. Make sure your dryer is not overheating with a blocked up exaust vent and also make sure the area inside the dryer is clean and nothing is holdng the motor back from turning.
