Astra key programming?

My Astra keys were lost and it cost me £160 to get new key cut and programmed. My old keys were subsequently found - will they still work? Work collegue said that as new key cut/programmed old one would set off imobaliser if I tried.

the old key will still work, you havent changed the imobiliser code, thats still the same, the new key was programed to the existing code
