fix my citroen c5?

my c5 is a 1.8 petrol model on 51 plate i get antipollution fault from start up and engaine managment and service lights stay on it has failed it mot on co emittions and has a slight rattle from cat any one got any ideas

has got some service history and rattle is definitly from the cat only just got the car and need to get emissiond down to pass mot only .19 over

Has it been serviced regularly, or is it overdue? Have you been using supermarket petrol in it? If so try Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate instead to get it to run cleaner. Sounds as if the catalytic converter is suspect too, although that could just be the heat shield rattling.
