can anyone help. we have a pug 206 gti 2.0. the head gaskit and cam belt went last year so we had it all repaired. but after that there was a noise like the fan belt was slipping so we had that done to but that was not the problem. so we had the pullies replaced but still no joy. we been told that the engine has been knocked out of line. so was wondering how we go about getting it fixed without someone ripping me arms and legs off

Hi,You dont say what kind of speed the cars doing but check out the clutch release bearing before you start on anything else (like drive shaft/wheel bearings) this could make a squealing noise like you describe and will be there long before you get into 2nd gear! good luck.
