Clutch fluid leaking from bottom of engine?

If I leave my astra parked for a few days, clutch fluid leaks from under the engine and I end up with no pressure in the foot paddle and can't select a gear. Is this a big problem to fix? The last guy told me my gearbox was done. I have a 2000 Astra 1.6 petrol

Pretty sure these are internal cylinder, so gearbox will have to come off. Best to fit a new clutch while you're in there, it's probably contaminated with oil.

the clutch slave cylinder is leaking past the rubbers may be mounted externally (EASY replacement)
if internally mounted the gearbox HAS be dropped

why the h--- do manufactures mount slave cylinders internally? it's nothing to do with space
