I recently came back from holiday to find my alarm not operating, the internal sounder is very quiet and the external sounder doesn't work at all. I've gone through instruction manual etc and tried doing a factory reset to no avail, can anyone advise please?

Hi ya, yes come across this problem many times, you will find its a glass 1 amp quick blow fuse has gone. There are two on the circuit board, Replace both as i doubt you have a multi-meter to check.

when you say quiet i take this as power failure but on the scantronic panel it will say i would open the panel and check the fuses im not familiar anyomore with the scantronic panels so id wait for a diffrent engineer on this site hes good with the scantronic range
