I phoned Binatone who were not especially helpful. They did tell me however that if the unit won't respond to the reset button on the back that the software had "hung up". The only solution is to send it to them apparently for fixing at about £35 +postage.
Mine's going in the bin now and I'm not buying anything Binatone again.
