my key wont open my doors but it will open my boot and start the engin, why?

my car is a ford fiesta v reg i have only got one key it will open the boot and start my engin but it wont open my doors. can i fix this myself or do i need to take it to a deller

your key is possibly worn, best to take to locksmith who will be able to cut new one [if worn] ,and may be able to programme it for immobiliser.
