How do I change the gearbox on a 1997 Automatic Honda Civic ?

I have a replacement but I need to know if it is an engine out job or if it can just be done with Ramps and a trolley jack !

The box can be removed without the engine. You will need the wheels off etc. to remove the drive shafts so your ramps will be useless. Not the nicest job even with decent equipment. Ensure all the numbers on the replacement box are the same as there are many similar Honda boxes with minor but incompatible differences.
