alarm keeps going off when power fails, minor problems with faults etc. in garage, when boiler cuts in.I would like to disconnect alarm until I can afford a new one.

Turn off the mains supply to the control unit Open control unit cover and remove leads from the standby battery
This will stop any inside noise but the outside sounder will ring for 20 minutes if the nicad battery is in the sounder is in good condition if it is flat the noise will stop straight away
After 20 minutes the alarm is completely dead
