if its xp , try click start, then right click , my computer" go to propertiers" click on it,, go to hardware,click on it, go to "device manager" click on it , a drop down menu , opens , look for cd/dvd, cilck on it , if there is a x or a ? over the drivers , you might need to reinstall , the ( named driver there) try double click on the driver with the x or ? on it , and see if you can enable that driver , thats if its there , if not go on line and try download that (NAMED) driver ,,
