The pressure releif device has been activated and this will need to be replaced. The reason for the PRD activation needs to be estabilished too otherwise the new PRD will blow too! Normally a restriction in the handset (limescale) or hose (kinked) that impedes the water flow through the unit.
To rplace the PRD ensure unit has been isolated electrically and remove the front cover (put somethimg over the plug hole to stop the little screws from ending up in the traps!!) The front cover is attached to the rest of the unit via a pcb ribbon.
If the it is An OPAL mk1 then the PRD is located in the bottom of the heating can and the water outlet pipe needs to be removed once this is out of the way then the PRD can be pulled free and the new one pushed back into place. Ensure the little O ring goes back too! You will get water leaking from the heating can but you do not need to turn off the water supply to the unit. Refit the transparent hose and the hose outlet.
If you have the OPAL 2 then the PRD is located on the side of the water / hose outlet pipe and this is just unscrewed and the new one screwed into its place remembering the o ring!
To bring the units back into operation remove the handset from the hose and turn the flow/temperature adjustment dial to the fully hot position and on reinstating the power supply select COLD button (This ensures the solenoid opens to allow water to refill the heating can slowly and allows any air to escape slowly through the hose and not burst the new PRD that youve just replaced!!!) Once a steady flow of water is coming through the hose move the dial fully to the cold position and back again a few times to dispell any trapped air. Check for leaks around All the bits you removed and if all ok replace the cover (isolate electrics again) replace handset and electric supply and then ensure the shower functions as normal!

Hi. You could look on this http://www.shower-spares.co.uk/triton/triton_opal.htm to see if the part you require is here. Then you can decide whether its worth repairing, or getting a new one. Its the prd (Pressur Relief Device) Thats more than likey to have gone.
