Hi, I have an iveco daily van and it has begun to shudder badly when driving in low revs, but when the turbo kicks in its fine. I have checked the injectors and fitted a new fuel filter. I got two new front tyres a week ago and the wheels realigned, could this be the problem? The shuddering began at around the same time. Thanks for your help

I have a 35 S 12 which shuddered at low revs when pulling away or reversing and a 'clunk' when changing gear had it checked out and now is perfect after having the 'sliding joint' in the propshaft changed and 2 new bearings fitted either side of the sliding joint . Hope this helps.

Is it mechanical shuddering like suspension geometry or is the engine misfiring.

If misfiring and its fine when the turbo kicks in you may have a crack in the turbo hose or intercooler and be losing boost pressure.

If its mechanical shuddering when the turbo kicks in and you're generating large torque something is getting pulled into line. I had similar problems when the wishbone bushings were gone. If you jack the truck and hit the tyre with a large hammer in different directions you should be able to see if the wishbone busings, balljoints, trackrod ends, anitiroll bar bushings etc are worn.

could be propshaft fault center bearing or universal joint,also check rear axle "u" bolts,they tend to come loose,just another point to check is front engine mounting bolts they also loosen and drop out,[if you look at the large front cross member under van you should be able to see them near front pulley-2 each side]
