Hi, My car would not start at all this morning, the rac took it to the nearest renault garage, they have now quoted me £150 plus to get a new key as it is not sincronising .. i realy cannot afford this, am i being ripped off? is the any advice how i could do this cheaper.

mine wouldn't start after the snow. battery was low but not dead but immobilser came on. had it towed to non renault garage who had to take it to a renault garage as they were the only ones who could recode the immobiliser. was told i needed a new key but whilst on computer a fault cropped up i needed an ecu £480.?? fitted and programmed. iS IT JUST FUSE #19?
