When filling has reached set level & again when bowl has finished draining you will hear a short series of thumps as the bowl is shunted backward & forward while the controller is checking the status of the bowl before agitating or spinning. Code 56 means it has not detected a valid status. Can be caused by overloading too many clothes. Water syphoning out of the drain hose & changing the water level. Bearings or bowl seizing up. Faulty rotor position sensor or a faulty motor controller.
