hi, same kinda problem here. i looked every were on my carb, cleaned it new jets you name it!. turned out to be the rubber cover over the throttle cable on the carb had split letting through to much air. i just put tape round it and it worked like a dream. try it.

you need to determine what is wrong,i would take the carb off and undo the float bowl(bowl shaped bit on the bottom)then put the carb back on just loosly and get someone to kick the engine over while you hold the float up and see if the fuel comes out of the carb still if it does then the needle or seat either has a bit of debris stopping the needle from blocking the hole up or the needle and/or seat is worn you will need to replace it is its worn or clean it if its got crap in it.if you let the float down slightly while its being kicked over or pressing the electric start the petrol should come out and when you psuh it back up it should stop. be gentle! but tell me what happens ok

if you had a new carb then that one isnt right either!the system works as follows,
the fuel tap opens when a vaccum is drawn on the air pipe witht he bike running, the fuel flows in the carb via a brass pipe that leads to the float needle seat the float has a needle on it the is joined to a float when the fuel goes in it runs past the float needle through the float needle seat and fills the float bowl up ...the float rises like a bouy and the needle is loosely fixed to it so as the floats rises it pushes the float needle into the seat and stops the fuel from coming in.so if its still leaking then the needle is either stcuk of has a bad sealing end the seat could be worn or the float may not be bouyant i.e have a split in it or crack so its full of fuel and not floating .its very simple these have a plasti float so it cannot be adjusted like a metal float can .
