Why won't dryer dry the clothes?

My Hotpoint tumble dryer will not heat up and dry the clothes. the drum is turning just won't heat up, why?

the thermostats are probably gone and need to be replaced. shouldn't cost too much. just make sure you get the right colour dot on the thermostat for your machine.
