When you switch on the lap top keep pressing F8 button until you get into the hidden section of the operating system.
Simply follow the repair my computer prompts from there.

From what you say it appears that you may have illegal software - Microsoft's Operating Systems come with a Product Activation Key... Sometimes you can find it on a sticker on the outside of the machine. Other times on the media package.
